And I get to share with my mom and grandma what I mean by spirituality.

 

I get to talk about the fact that as we’ve been visiting all the beaches along the coast this week, I haven’t been putting my feet in the water just because it’s some fun thing I like to do. I explain that the feel of the water, the sound of the waves, the scent of the ocean–all these things ground me, bring in the presence of my grandpa for me, help me understand that everything is and always will be okay.
